David Pauls joined Ground Studio in 2021. He grew up in Oregon, where proximity and time in the outdoors and wilderness have influenced his interests in art, design, and ecology. After attaining his undergraduate degree in fine art, David worked in the forestry industry in Oregon, helping to inform his understanding of managed landscapes and influence his art practice. Drawing from this background, he is interested in exploring the intersection of materiality, site specificity, and climate resilience within designed landscapes and artwork.
David holds a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree from Goshen College and Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon.
